BANGALORE: There''s a buzz in every college campus, as their music troupes get set to vie for top slot at what will be the culmination of music competitions, later this month. Bangalore has witnessed a resurgence in musical concerts, and college bands, rockers and head-bangers, have made beelines to all college competitions, like Strawberry Fileds and Cul-Ah, to name a few.
This time round, the Times Group will be hosting the Bangalore Times University Rock, a festival of music, touted to be the mother of all such competitions, on Saturday, 31st January 2004 at the St Josephs'' Boys School (Webbs Ground), M G Road.
Lipton is the main sponsor and has associated with Bangalore Times to present this rollicking event that is sure to keep the young Bangaloreans foot tapping to some awesome music.
The competition will be in two separate categories, Indi-Pop and Western. While registrations for the competition are underway, a preliminary round for all registered bands will determine which bands will thrall a very keen and aware Bangalore crowd, in the evening.
The mega prizes the best bands get to walk away include the largest cash bonanza the city has seen, apparels, gift coupons and even return flight tickets to hot spots.
If the day promises to take care of the musically inclined, other pangs will be duly taken care of with interesting food stall spreads and the like.
